Roland Ray Johnson's Obituary
Roland Ray Johnson departed from this life on Wednesday morning, August 29, 2012. He was 73 years of age. He was a lifelong resident of Basile. From a young child, Roland loved hunting and fishing on Bayous Nezpique and Duralde. He owned and operated Johnson Industrial Painting from 1991 to the present. Roland was a very hard worker and good provider for his family.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving and faithful wife of 47 years, Mary King Johnson of Basile; four sons, Terry Johnson and wife Alisha of Ragley, Paul Johnson of Kinder, Kurt Johnson and wife Desiree of Kinder, and James A. Johnson of Basile; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Lou Vigee and Barbara Manuel, both of Basile; and step-father, CJ Vidrine of Basile.
He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Johnson; his mother, Nola Bellon Vidrine; and brother, Sanford Paul Johnson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Elton United Pentecostal Church. Rev. M.G. Davis will officiate. Visitation will be at the Quirk & Son Funeral Home, located in Basile, on Friday, August 31, 2012, from 4 PM until 10 PM and on Saturday at the church from 9 AM until service time.
