Rena Sonnier LaFleur's Obituary
Rena Sonnier LaFleur went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2013. She was a resident of Briarcliff Nursing Home in Greenville, TX; where she passed away after a short illness.
Born March 12, 1920 in Basile, LA to Remie and Attie Sonnier. She was a homemaker and live-in nanny for most of her years.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Lester of Lone Oak, TX; Betty Woods of Kinder; two sisters, Mattie Ashford of Kinder; and Mary Marshall of Wolfe City, TX; ten grandchildren, Lance Lester, Daisy Huntington, Jerald Lester, Chris Lester, Bonnie Bratcher, Patsy Childers, Wayne Woods, Robert Woods, and Eric Woods; nineteen great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Remie and Attie Sonnier; brothers, Ozemie Sonnier, Willie Sonnier, Mayous Sonnier, and Julius Sonnier; three sisters, Wedna Vidrine, Essie Johnson, and Bea Richard; one grandson, Phillip Lester; and great granddaughter, Heather Lester.
Graveside Services were held on Tuesday April 30, 2013 at Augustine Cemetery in Basile.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Briarcliff and Vitas Hospice for loving care. We also wish to thank Bartley Funeral Home in Lone Oak, TX for preparing our loved one for her journey.
