Peggy Sue Watson's Obituary
Peggy Sue Watson, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
A Graveside Service for Peggy will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, with Brother Bert Langley officiating. Burial will follow.
Peggy was born to the late Hoover Watson and Virginia McClelland Watson. She was a devout Christian who deeply loved her family and had a tremendous love for children. Peggy faithfully served her church in many roles throughout her life. She was a Sunday School teacher for children and youth, served as Youth Director, and was the secretary of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. In the final years of her life, she served as Chairman of the Committee for the Joyful Pilgrims, a role she cherished dearly.
She is survived by her brother, Glen H. Watson and wife Brenda; her sister, Sarah Michot; her nephew, Robbie Watson and wife Tammy Luke-Watson; four nieces, Cindy Richey and husband Greg,, Billie Ellis, Shasta Watson, and Tammy Thibodeaux and husband Donnie; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Robert “Butch” Watson, Sr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church youth fund.
