Pearl Hoffman's Obituary
On, April 23, 2013, Mae Pearl Hoffman, age 85 passed away after a lengthy illness in the comfort of her home with her family surrounding her.
She enjoyed fishing, collecting salt and pepper shakers, sewing homemade Mardi Gras costumes, quilting, crocheting, cooking , working in her flowerbeds and garden and being outside with her grandkids. Most of all she was a loving, ever so patient and nurturing wife, mom, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Now the time has come for her family and friends to lay her to rest. There will be no more pain, sorrow and worry – only happiness and joy that she is in the hands of the Lord in a new life.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday April 25, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Father Nathan Comeaux will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Huval (Blake) and Priscilla Doucet (Wayne); One brother, Charles "Boozie" Miller; three sisters, Bessie Young; Doris Daire and Dora Bertrand; five grandchildren, Eddie Cannon, Junior Cannon (Angela), Travis Huval (Tanva), Beau Huval (Keesha) and Kyle Huval; nine great grandchildren, Kaylin Cannon, Dakota Cannon, Devin Cannon, Baylee Cannon, Kelci Huval, Adalyn Huval, Caitlin Huval, Treven Huval and Cade Huval; 1 great great grandchild, Riklynn Richard and one special companion, her dog "Toot Toot" .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hoffman; her parents, Lydia and Dave Miller; her daughter, Rebecca Young; her grandson, Chris Young and her son-in-law, Lukas Young; two brothers, Carrol Miller and J.D. Miller and one sister, Lena Cormier.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Wednesday April 24, 2013 at 10 AM to 10 PM. A Rosary will be prayed Deacon Gary Gaudin at 6 PM that evening. The funeral home will reopen at 8 AM on Thursday for visitation until time of service. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
