Patricia Joan Lewis Roosa's Obituary
Patricia Joan (Lewis) Roosa, 91, left this earthly realm on Sunday, June 18, 2023, after courageously struggling with Parkinsons. Patricia (Pat) was born on October 17, 1931, in Beaver Township, Ohio, the youngest of the six children of William Marion Lewis and Sarah Ada Viola (Dimond) Lewis. She is survived by Donald Earle Roosa, her husband of 73 years and her six children, Robert Roosa (Tracy) of Church Point, Kenneth Roosa (Helen) of Vaughn, WA, John Roosa (Judy) of Iota, Rebekah R. Miller of Iota, Philip Roosa (Kari) of Iota, and Benjamin Roosa of Iota. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; one sister Dolores L. Mootz of Hillsboro , Ohio and many nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sarah Lewis; two brothers, Kenneth Lewis and Robert Lewis and two sisters, Elva L. Lokai and Ruth L. Bentley, and her son-in-law Wesley B. Miller.
Pat was the pillar of her family, beloved and cherished by all. She was a devoted mother, a wonderful “Grammy” to her grandchildren, and a longtime member of Northside Assembly of God Church in which she was very supportive of the school and the church. She loved to make quilts and she donated one every year to the school fair. Pat loved to sing in her strong alto voice. In addition to singing duets in church with Don, she frequently sang at home as she went through her daily life. Pat was an avid gardener and tended a bountiful home garden well into her 80’s, providing her with exercise and her family with fresh produce. She supported The Way Training Center, a Crowley, LA adult drug treatment program with friendly visits, donations, and fresh baked goods for the residents. She was much loved by her friends and family, and her loss will be mourned by many.
“There are special people in our lives who never leave us, even after they are gone. We do not remember days, we remember moments. The best and the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.”
We want to thank Lamm Family Care for all of their kindness, love, and support through this very difficult time.
