Murphy Chapman's Obituary
Murphy Chapman passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at the age of 70.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at CH Mason Church of
God in Christ in Eunice. Elder Johnathan Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Baptist
Cemetery in Chataignier.
Murphy is survived by his wife, Lou S. Chapman of Eunice; two daughters, Shaliquia Chapman Givs
of Lake Charles and Erica Vigers of Eunice; five sons, Mark Edwards of Eunice, Demon Edwards of
Lake Charles, Douglas Edwards of Eunice, Curley Chapman of Lake Charles, and Eric Vigers; two
sisters, Dorothy Poullard of Eunice and Joyce Lavelie of Port Arthur; two brothers, Aaron Henchett
of Houston, TX and Elven Henchett of Lake Charles; twenty-six grandchildren; and numerous
great-grandchildren.
Murphy was preceded in death by his parents, Curley Chapman and Sleager Charles Chapman; two
sisters, Ruthie Gallow and Irma Jean Henchett; and three brothers, Irvin Henchett, Warren Henchett,
and Leron Henchett.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the
time of service.
