Mildred Pearl Veillon Manuel's Obituary
Mildred Pearl Veillon Manuel passed away at the age 83 on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Acadia-St. Landry Guest House in Church Point.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Father Clinton Sensat will be celebrant.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Phyllis Bergeron and husband Gerald of Eunice, Bradley Manuel and Mary Chesley of Mamou, Stephanie Reed and Greg Reed of Eunice, Joseph Manuel, Sr and Cheryl Broussard of Eunice, Mitchell Manuel and wife Cindy of Breaux Bridge, Renee Manual and Mark Prather of Church Point, and daughter-in-law Berna Dean Manuel of Mamou; sister, Lou Ella Blanchard; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, and also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie R. Manuel; her parents, Sava and Elma Chapman Veillon; son, Bradford Manuel I; granddaughter, Toby Manuel; grandson, Bradford Manuel II; brother Joseph Wedney Veillon; daughter-in-law, Dana Sue Manuel.
Mildred donated her body to the Tulane Medical Center.
She loved her family most of all. She prayed the rosary and taught her children to do the same.
Mildred enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, as well as, babysitting for others.
Her many pastimes were sewing, baking, and telling stories and jokes. She especially liked playing cards with friends and dancing the Cajun two-step.
This woman was truly remarkable.
We loved her and will forever cherish her memory.
