Mrs. Robert was a one of a kind "teacher-mentor". My favorite teacher of all time in my Hahnville High days. She inspired me and "put up with me". Prayers to Marie and the entire family.

Ouida and I first met years ago when we were both members of Beginning Experience as widowed members in the Diocese of Lafayette. Although I never met any of her family members or her daughter, I felt I knew all of you because she spoke so highly and so much about all of you. And I would receive Christmas cards with the grandchildren' pictures, know when you were going on family trips, etc. I knew how much she loved Sr. Carm and Fr.. Louie, and she sent me a picture of her and Father at his anniversary celebration. She was my soul sister. I loved her so very much, I live in Franklin and getting to Lafayette has been difficult because my husband has been ill for a couple of years now and I was not able to leave him. In face, the last time I spoke to Ouida was when he was in the Heart Hospital and I call tell by her voice just how ill she was. My heart was so heavy all day that I was not able to attend the funeral. My husband and I are both recovering from Covid. Please know how full my heart is for all of you......Marie, Carla, grandchildren, sisters, Sister, Father, all those who were blessed to have this beautiful woman in our lives. And now she's in her Eternal Home, in the arms of our Blessed Lord. Rest in Peace, my dearest friend.

So sad to hear of Mrs. Robert's passing. She was a much beloved teacher at Hahnville High School.

Even though we grew up down the road from one another (Mamou for me & Vidrine for Ouida), I didn't get to know her until we "discovered" one another while working out at Red's. We shared mutual friends and acquaintances so we often visited when we were supposed to be exercising. Ouida was a lovely lady; she will be greatly missed. My sympathy and prayers to her family. Heaven is richer because of her presence. Robbie Gary Beazley
Ms. Robert was far and away our favorite teacher at Hahnville High School. That was both for my brother and myself. She was our student council advisor. I will always remember planning and preparing for the Proms at her house. She always welcomed us all to her home. Marie was in our class so we had the inside track. She motivated us to expand our vocabulary by have us use those words everyday which made for fun in the lunch room. She obviously made a difference in so many of our lives. God has another angel in heaven.
I was just thinking about Mrs Robert today as I was cleaning items in an armoire. I still have the binder with quotes she’d give us from my senior year of high school. Her passion for teaching, fun spirit, and love of God have inspired me throughout my life! She certainly let her light shine in this world!! Condolences to the family!
