Marcella Burleson Ninemire's Obituary
Marcella Burleson Ninemire passed away on Friday August 30, 2013 at 93 years of age.
She was born October 6, 1919 in Shamrock, Oklahoma, to Rufus Lee Burleson and Bertha Jane Elder Burleson. She lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma until her marriage to H.L. "Dutch" Ninemire in 1938. Continental Oil Company transferred them to Ville Platte, Louisiana in 1939, where she lived until they were transferred to Eunice, Louisiana in 1959.
Marcella was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carolyn, in 1940; her husband Dutch in 2002; and her son Wayne in 2002; her brother, Lee Burleson and sisters Eva Thorp, Laura Mae Brown, and Almeda Crist.
Her family was the center of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Guillory and husband Terry of Eunice, LA; her grandchildren, Leslie Pitre and husband Perry Jr. of Eunice, and Benjamin Guillory of Lake Charles, LA; three great grandchildren, Blake Pitre, Perry Pitre III, and Lily Grace Guillory.
Marcella was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eunice, where she taught Sunday school and Youth Group for many years.
Visitation will be Monday, September 2, 2013 from 8 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
