Lula Mae Christ's Obituary
Mrs. Lula Mae Christ, age 83, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice after a brief illness.
Mrs. Christ was a resident of Basile. A devoted catholic all of her life, she was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and The Ladies' Altar Society. She loved her family very much and enjoyed cooking for them as often as she could. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be missed very much by them all.
Survivors include her three children, Linda Christ, Roderick Christ, and Sue Pelloquin and husband, Kirk all of Basile; a brother, Norman Duplechin and wife, Carol of Eunice; a daughter-in-law, Colleen Christ of Basile; ten grandchildren, Melissa Hill, Lorrie Baggs, Nik Hicks, Cassie Christ, Garret Christ, Natalie Christ Courville, Monica Pelloquin Langley, Dustin Pelloquin, Kerrie Pelloquin, and Trenton Pelloquin; and 17 great-grandchildren. Lula Mae was preceded in death bny her husband, Nelson Christ; parents, Dutile & Lilda Rider Duplechain.
Her funeral mass will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church mausoleum. Father Brian Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from noon until 10 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, from 8 a.m. until time of service.
