I met Red when I was a young civil engineer in connection with the ACEC Engineering Society for which Red served as Statewide President. For whatever reason, Red apparently liked me and took me under his wing and mentored me. Red was the consummate gentleman of unquestionable integrity and I hope some of that rubbed off on me as well.

Sad that he's gone. First met 50 years ago when we moved to Eunice and I took a position at Gilbert Chevrolet, Inc. where his father, Mr. Lindsey Aucoin, was a salesman.

Red and Tony met when serving on the Eunice Economic Development Committee. Red was a fountain of information and knowledge. Red was the kindest man, willing to share his talents to make the city a better place to live. As a friend, he was the best.
Shirley, we wish we could be there to express our sympathy to you in person, but Tony is in the hospital with multiple injuries from a motorcycle accident and I will be with him the entire day. Just know that we all feel your loss and he will long be remembered.

One tennis match, not too long ago, I was playing as mr Red’s partner and slightly pulled a muscle in a leg and indicated it to Mr. Red. Instead of stopping the match he told me to just stand in one place and he would cover the rest of the court. Well we ended up winning. That was The competitor he was. Just a great person and friend.
