Laura Cormier Cormier's Obituary
Laura Cormier passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at the age of 92.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at 10AM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home.
Deacon David Guillory will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Paul Mausoleum.
Laura is survived by three sons, Joseph "Butch" D. Doucet and wife Debra of Eunice, Norman Doucet and
wife Jerry of Ville Platte, and Carson Doucet and wife Kathy of Lake Charles; two daughters, Peggy Miller
and husband Richard of Lafayette and Paula Emerson and husband Mike of Lafayette; one daughter-in-law,
Pam Doucet of Lafayette; one son-in-law, Hank Carrel of Sulphur; five step-children, Leroy Cormier, Wilton
Cormier, Dewey Cormier, Jr., Hilton Cormier, and Dorothy Stumpp; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen
step-grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Aurelien and Aze Cormier; her first husband, Thomas Nolton
Doucet; her second husband, Dewey J. Cormier; one daughter, Brenda Carrel; one son, Herman Doucet;
one grandson, Sam Emerson; four brothers, Ovy, Willlie, Ophie, and Sydney Cormier; four sisters, Niece
Picard, Rita Hebert, Frances Cormier, and Esta Cormier.
The family would like to thank River Oaks Retirement Manor, the staff at Lafayette General, and Hospice of
Acadiana for the care and attention given to their mother.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday January 27, 2015, from 10 AM to 9 PM. A Rosary
will be prayed at 7 PM by Deacon David Guillory. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday at 8 AM for
visitation until the time of service.
