Kenneth Ray Fontenot's Obituary
Kenneth Ray Fontenot, age 71, was born on October 5, 1954, and passed away on January 29, 2026.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 2:00 PM at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Father John Dugas serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Quirk & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. led by Deacon Gary Gaudin. Visitation will resume on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. until time of departure for services.
Kenneth was married to the love of his life, Debbie LeJeune Fontenot, on August 2, 1975, sharing over 50 years of marriage. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time spent with his family.
Kenneth worked as a carpenter for 40 years. In his later years, he continued working by building and moving portable buildings, earning the nickname “the building mover.” He enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with friends at Eunice’s local café, The New Ronnie’s Café. Kenneth loved telling jokes and was well known for having the best “dad jokes,” often competing playfully with his grandchild. He also dearly loved his dog, Baby Girl.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife; his son, Kory Fontenot and wife Misty; his daughter, Katy Fontenot; his brother, Timothy Babineaux; his sister, Debbie Durio; and one cherished grandchild, Payton Fontenot.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kody Fontenot; his father, Charles Joseph “C.J.” Babineaux; and his mother, Vernice Guillory.
Kenneth will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, sense of humor, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
