Juanita Bergstad's Obituary
Eunice, LA
Mrs. Juanita Bergstad, 87, passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. She was born in Illinois on June 1, 1923, and for many years was a practicing ceramic artist and teacher, and the owner of J & J Ceramics in Sterling, IL. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Hattiesburg, MS. Six years ago she moved to Eunice to be near daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Sanford Wood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ruth Crump, her three brothers, Donald, Lyle and S.C. Crump, and her husband, John Bergstad.
She is survived by her five children, Pam Wood of Eunice, LA, Billie Burtlow of Lumberton, MS, Sandra Wickham of Rockford, IL, Thomas Dickey and Ruth Knowles both of Rock Falls, IL. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Quirk & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, February 18, from 5 PM to 7 PM.
The funeral and internment will be in Hattiesburg, MS, where her husband is buried.
