John Ernest was a cousin, the kind that you love to claim.He told Julius about bringing his parents to visit my parents. My dad, Joe Sonnier, and John (Little John is what dad called him) were special to one another and John Ernest knew that. He and I would talk about our family's history. Sorry for your loss. John was a very nice man who enjoyed his life. Last time I saw John was on his birthday in 2015. He stayed in Mandeville, LA and my wife and I took him to lunch. We had a very nice visit and he later sent some photos that he took of our reunion and of Fountainbleau Park where he was staying. God Bless You, John.

Big John was a gift to the EHS Class of '56. Our class was a family of friends who shared our school years. John continued to share memories and helped us to create more as we shared our class reunions. One of his gifts was the sharing of his "train" journey that brought him to Louisiana. He enriched our lives and I join my classmates in honoring his memory. A life well lived.
