Janice Meredith Dischler Moon's Obituary
On Friday, June 28, 2024, Jan Dischler Moon, age 70, won the ultimate victory as she transitioned from this earth into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jason Moon officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery.
At the request of family, visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of Services on Monday.
Born Janice Meredith Dischler on August 24, 1953, she was the third of seven children born to Donald Ray and Vera Anne Hundley Dischler. She spent much of her adult years as a homemaker and also was a talented baker, blessing many over the years with her talents in wedding, birthday and groom’s cakes.
She was a woman of intense and unshakable faith, a faith that sustained her through her health issues during the last two years of her life.
Survivors include her two sons, Pastor Jason Moon (Amie), Jacob Moon; two daughters, Julianne Zannini (Bobby), Jana Broussard (Ben); grandchildren Micah, Christian, Kristofer, Aubrey, Lacey, Kailey and Paisley Moon, Landen Broussard, Emily and Mya Zannini; two sisters, Sylvia “Button” Stanford, Sharon Sullivan; four brothers, Donald Dischler, Jr. (Lynette); Mark Dischler (Vanessa), Karl Dischler (Jeanne), Bruce Dischler; her Godfather, Richard Dischler; the father of her children, John Moon (Cindy).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Anne Dischler; one granddaughter, Jana Michelle Zannini; “brothers-in-love”, C.J. Martello, Julian Stanford, Gary Sullivan; niece Brandi Dischler Guillory; grand-niece, Laura Emily Hulsey; Godmother, Delores Dischler; uncle, Louis Dischler; and Jan’s companion, Gerald Manuel.
Pallbearers are Jacob Moon, Micah Moon, Landen Broussard, Ben Broussard, Bobby Zannini and Kareem Douresseau.
The family wishes to thank Bridgeway Hospice and the oncology department at Our Lady of Lourdes Health for their care and support.
