James Mervin Sattler's Obituary
James Mervin Sattler passed away at his home on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at the age of 88.
James was born on March 31, 1927 in Church Point, Louisiana to Curry and Lydia Richard Sattler. He
was retired from the merchant marine and was a veteran of the Army and Navy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015, at St. Thomas Chapel in Eunice
at 2:00 p.m. Fr. Wayne Duet will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.
James is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lita Miller Sattler of Eunice; three daughters, Melissa Sattler and
husband Gary Woodson of Baton Rouge, Susan S. Gianfala and husband Quinn of Church Point, and Donna
McRae and husband Mac of Atlanta ,GA; two brothers, Lubert Sattler and wife Jesse of Kinder and Don
Sattler of Eunice; five grandchildren including Lydia Moreau and husband Brookes, Janie Daigle and husband
Cy, Luke and Jude McRae, and Sebastian Gianfala; five great-grandchildren, as well as, many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Curry Sattler and Lydia Richard Sattler; two sisters, Cecelia
"Sis"Frey and Lois Babineaux; three brothers, Philip Sattler, Kelly Sattler, and Richard Sattler.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Quirk & Son Funeral
Home in Eunice from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. by Fr. Austin Leger.
The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Monday for visitation until the time of service.
