Heather Elizabeth Joubert Bearb radiated pure joy; a literal gift to all those that knew her. Her family knew her as “Heather Roo”, or just “Roo” most days; her nieces and nephews calling her “YaYa”, a name that she wore like a badge of honor. Everyone loved Heather; but children adored her. She was fun, and silly, and happy and so very kind. And her laugh! Her laugh was absolutely infectious. Heather lived a life filled with simple pleasures. She was happy to be cruising the lake at Toledo Bend with Doniel, McKenzie, Jacob, and Lauren, preparing for Christmas (weeks before anyone else), or just sitting by a fire with her favorite people. Heather’s family, extended and otherwise, was her top priority. She must have had early wings, as somehow, she managed to make it to every sporting event, after school activity, family gathering, or church and school function, often times in the same day. She could be spotted snapping photos for all the Bluejay moms one minute, and, after a quick tee shirt change, cheering at a baseball game for the Mamou Green Demons moments later. Family was everything to Heather, remembering and keeping family traditions being paramount. She kept meticulous ancestry notes and loved collecting and sharing stories from her grandmothers. She was a walking reference guide for the history of the Chachere and Joubert families, going back many generations. It was important to Heather that we remember our loved ones long after they’re gone. But above all, our Heather had a servant’s heart, one that was guided by her immense faith and her love of Jesus Christ. She took care of everyone and gave of herself without reservation or the expectation of anything in return, the epitome of Christ’s Love. And although she will be missed dearly here on earth, her legacy will live on, as the faith that she instilled in her children give them the strength to carry on, keeping her memory alive. “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25
