Daddy would say to me as I would leave, "Tell the others I said hello for me".
Last words he said to me clearly, "Y'all behave". I have heard that so many times growing up.
I don't remember him as an affectionate person but in his last months he would tell me he Loved me & hug me tight. That means so much to me now.
I miss the way he was so ticklish. You could just poke at him & not even touch, he would jump & say, "HEY YOU". He was always trying to have fun & make us laugh back when.
He Loved to sing & dance. His famous move was sliding on his knees on the dancefloor. That was the highlight of wedding receptions. I sure won't forget ours.
On weekends he would break out with his guitar and amp. He sang for hours. I would ask him to sing Matilda. He would say by Cookie & the Cup Cakes.
When he would work on our vehicles. He'd hand me a scraper & let me scrape grease from underneath. I had a fun time.
I have so many memories. Hope I don't forget any.

Joke my dad told: Back in the day when 190 was the only way. No I-10. 2 old boys from Texas, not to bright and can't read well, want to go to New Orleans. Get in the old pick up & headed down 190. Getting near, the driver suddenly turns around. Passenger ask why you turned around. Driver says, you didn't see the sign. It says New Orleans left.
