Deryl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother—the rock of his family. He was always there to lend a hand, never expecting anything in return. Whether it was his children, grandchildren, or someone in the community who needed help, Deryl gave selflessly and without hesitation.
Never one to sit still, he always had a project in the works and took immense pride in everything he built or fixed. He didn’t have to say much—his actions spoke for him. Whether it was building a cabinet, cheering on his grandkids at sporting events, or cutting someone’s grass on a Sunday afternoon, he showed his love in quiet, steady ways.
Deryl dedicated 26 years to serving his community as a firefighter, a role he took great pride in. He taught those around him the importance of taking care of family above all else—not through words, but by example. As his life drew to a close, this lesson became even clearer. Loving and caring for his wife and family was his greatest purpose, and he made sure everyone knew it without ever having to say a word.
Deryl will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Deryl is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Debra “Gail” Fontenot Brown; three sons, Coby Brown (Beth), Brian Brown (Emmy), Dustin Brown (Brittany); two daughters, Chastity Myers (Shane), Kristen Brooks (Garret); brother, Bernard Brown; sister, Sharon Hebert (Mike); ten grandchildren, Gavin Brown, Taylor Miles (Corey), Tyler Myers (Claire), Ali Myers, Jack Brown, Greta Brown, Ethan Brooks, Brayden Brooks, Eva Brooks, Rose Brown; four great-grandchildren, Maison, Austin, Karson and Haislyn.
