Dennis Wayne Hornsby's Obituary
Dennis Wayne Hornsby passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at the age of 82. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Len Johnson and Dr. Warren Lang Ford officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Mausoleum in Eunice.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Quirk & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 10:00 AM until time of Services. A Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed by Joey Serrette at 11:00 AM.
Wayne is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Barbara H. Hornsby; one sister, Sharon H. LeDoux (Dickie); one sister-in-law, Betty Hulin Serrette (Clemens); three brothers-in-law, Harold “T-Sue” Hulin (Louisette), T.K. Hulin (Colleen), and Larry “B-Lou” Hulin (Carolyn); numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis J. Hornsby and Norma Sloane; in-laws, Elie and Irene Hulin; one sister-in-law, Shirley Delcambre and her husband, Irvin; brother-in-law, Alvin Hulin; one niece, Adrienne LeDoux; one godchild, Maxwell Mullins.
Wayne was an avid outdoorsman. He was a loving and generous man.
Wayne loved his family deeply. Most say he was a jokester. He was always the “life of the party.”
Wayne was a 1960 graduate of Eunice High School.
He cherished his hunting family in Mississippi. He also loved traveling.
Wayne will be united with his lifelong friends, Archie Fontenot, Curment Griffin, Patrick Darbonne, and Herman Fruge who preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be Harold “T-Sue” Hulin, brother-in-law; Mike “Moon” Mullins, dear friend; Joey Serrette, nephew; Eric Delcambre, nephew; Jacque Fruge`, nephew and Cameron Hulin, nephew. Honorary pallbearers are brothers-in-law, Dickie LeDoux, Alton “T.K.” Hulin, Larry “B-Lou” Hulin, Clemes “CD” Serrette, as well as his nephews.
