Allen Sylvester, Jr.'s Obituary
Allen Sylvester, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at the age of 86.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Father Clinton Sensat will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Ann's Mausoleum in Mamou, LA.
Allen is survived by one son, Charles Sylvester of Eunice, LA; five daughters, Sue Ortego and husband Jimmy of Eunice, LA, Gail Fontenot and husband Wayne of Ville Platte, LA, Faye Sylvester and husband Ronald of Grand Prairie, Charlene Kyeer and husband Timmy of Fenton, and Christine Green of Abbeville, LA; one step-daughter, Jeannie Daigle and Husband Ted of Eunice, LA; one step-son, Michael Lejeune and wife Regina of Mamou, LA; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Sylvester, Sr. and Isaure Soileau Sylvester; his first wife, Betty Fontenot Sylvester; his second wife, Vernetta Bushnell Sylvester; a brother, Wayne Sylvester; a sister, Ethel Martel' a son-in-law, Carl Green.
At the request of the family, a visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013, from 10 AM to 10 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed on Friday, December 27, 2013. Deacon David Guillory will officiate. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
