To Doctor Miller's family: I extend to you heartfelt sympathy on your loss. I have been a close friend and co-worker of Dr. Miller's daughter Celeste. Both Celeste and I both work at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in Washington, DC. I work in the General Counsel's Office. Celeste works in the FERC's Office of External Affairs. For many years Celeste and I have worked together year after year closely on important assignments. I consider that Celeste and I practically related. I am a 1966 graduate of Tulane University. Thus, we both have Louisiana roots. My brother, also a Tulane alumnus, is a practicing surgeon, like Dr. Miller was. As a hobby, my brother restores old automobiles. Celeste told me that her dad shared this similar interest with my brother. At this time of your loss, I am reminded of some poem from 15th century Spanish literature that I had to memorize for a high school final exam sixty years ago: "Although he died, his memory leaves ample consolation."
