I took Mr. Jenkins's programming class and was honored to work with him under his guidance and support. We hung out at the math parties. It was truly the time of life to know him. Thank you, Mr. Jenkins. Until we meet again.

I met Willie when our wives were at the Good Samaritan center in Denton. When we learned we were both Louisiana natives we swapped a lot of stories. With Willie from Basile and me from Fields (near DeQuincy) we had some stories and knew people in common .I graduated from McNeese many years before Willie taught there. Just meeting and visiting while at Good Sam certainly helped relieve the stress on both of us. Willie was one of the nicest men I have met. I lost my wife a couple of years after Willie so I can understand the the pain.
My prayers to Willie's family. There will be a void without him; but the good memories will be forever.

I taught with Willie while he was at McNeese. I think he was one of the finest men I ever met. He was always willing to help his fellow man when needed. I am sure he is now in heaven with Mildred at the knee of God. I am sorry that I could not attend the funeral because I had my second covid vaccination and did not feel well.
Mr. Jenkins was so kind and helpful to me when I first came to McNeese in 1993 as a new professor. He always had a funny story to tell at lunch in the cafeteria. I loved hearing him tell Boudreaux/Thibodeaux jokes. Whenever I got stressed about some situation with my students, he always knew what to say to help me through it. In case you don't know, he was a wonderful teacher! I remember certain phrases that would often use like, "9 times out of 10..." He was a great mentor and friend to me, and I will always be thankful that I had the priviledge of knowing him.

Uncle Willie was a great favorite of all of his nieces and nephews, in laws and outlaws. He was a constant in our lives growing up and I always looked foward to his family visiting.
I particularly remember him "pulling his thumb apart" and as a child was just fascinated and fooled by his "trick" thumb.
Always kind, caring, thoughtful and interested in anything to do with family; he always seemed to listen with an open heart and mind.
Though time and life got in the way of visiting, he will be greatly missed by our family. Just knowing he is now reunited with his wife and family members is a great comfort.
I am sure he was greeted with "Well done my good and faithful servant" by his and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We look forward to the day.....
