Reverend William "Gary" Mitchell passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the age of 81. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Chataignier with Reverend Rickey Boone officiating. Burial will follow in First Baptist Cemetery in Chataignier. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Quirk & Son and will resume at 8:00 AM on Tuesday until time of departure for Services. Rev. Gary is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Elaine Smith Mitchell; two children, Jill Keen (Thomas), Sonny Mitchell (Maria); sister, Sue Carlock: five grandchildren, Missy Ontiveros (David), Kaci Guidry (Brody), McKenzi Fletcher, Brady Mitchell (Cameron), Megan Mitchell; nine great-grandchildren, Zachary Ontiveros, Sydney Ontiveros, Carter Heinen, Jon-Brady Mitchell, Ellie Guidry, Greta Cormier, Kerington Mitchell, Baylor Cormier, Ally Guidry. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nancy Allison Mitchell and his brother, Chuck Mitchell. Pallbearers will be Brady Mitchell, David Ontiveros, Zack Ontiveros, Brody Guidry, Tom Keen and Lloyd Hollier. Honorary pallbearers are Carter Heinen and Jon-Brady Mitchell.
