Mar 16, 1966 — Oct 9, 2026
Eunice, La
Whitney James, a devoted family man and beloved sports enthusiast, was born on March 16, 1966, in Houston, TX, and passed away on October 9, 2026, at the age of 60. Whitney's life was characterized by a love for the open road, a passion for sports, and an unwavering dedication to his family. He was a man of many talents and wore many hats throughout his life, but over the last decade, he found his calling as a truck driver in the food distribution industry. Despite his demanding profession, Whitney always made time for what mattered most to him: his family and his love for sports.
Whitney was a constant figure on the sidelines of softball fields, where he coached his daughters through recreational and high school softball. Even off the field, his words of encouragement, life lessons, and his unforgettable sense of humor will forever resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a man who believed in nurturing talent, fostering a team spirit, and instilling the values of hard work and perseverance. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched both on and off the field.
Whitney is survived by his loving wife, Sherada Woods James, and his devoted daughters, Cydni James, Paige James, and Justice James. He is also survived by his brothers, Daniel James and Patrick James (Dee); his sisters, Lisa Warren; and two loving grandchildren, Acelynn James and Armanni James.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Whitney Ralph and Annie Johnwell James.
Whitney's life was a testament to the love he had for his family, his passion for sports, and his dedication to his work.
