Vernon Lee Chaffin, age 71, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at St. Thomas More with Father Sam Fontana Celebrant. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Cemetery. At the request of family, visitation will be held at Quirk & Son on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a Rosary at 5:30 PM by Father Sam Fontana. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Wednesday until time of departure for Services. Vernon is survived by his wife, Linda Brignac Chaffin; one son, Daniel Chaffin; two daughters, Cynthia Ann Mouton (Brian), Ashley Renee Soileau (Garrick); two brothers, Roy Chaffin (Sue), George Chaffin, Sr.; three sisters, Barbara Fuselier (Tommy), Linda Fontenot, Bettie Stanley; two sisters-in-law, Rita Chaffin, Rita Naquin (Jeffery); nine grandchildren, Bailie Soileau, Kaitlin Mouton, Kylie Soileau, Connor Mouton, Wesley Soileau, Hailey Mouton, Andrew Soileau, Grayson Soileau and Natalie Soileau. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian Chaffin and Lillie Goodman Chaffin; one brother, Wayne Chaffin and brother-in-law, Vernon Fontenot, Jr.
