Verna Whittaker Bergeron passed away on March 1, 2013 at the age of 76. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday March 4, 2013 at 2 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Father Nathan Comeaux will be celebrant and Father Cedric Sonnier will be con-celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Verna is survived by her husband, John A. Bergeron, Sr. of Eunice; one daughter, Celina Delagarza and her husband Robert of Eunice; two sons, John A. Bergeron, Jr. and his wife Susan of Eunice and Bernard Bergeron and his wife Roberta of Eunice; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Modest Thibodeaux Whittaker; and one sister, Mary Cormier. At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Sunday March 3, 2013 from 9 AM to 10 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed by the Catholic Daughters at 5 PM on Sunday. The funeral home will reopen at 8 AM on Monday for visitation until service time. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
