Vera Lee Johnson Cole passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the age of 81.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Pine Prairie. Pastor Keith Sheridan will officiate. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Cemetery in Pine Prairie.

Vera is survived by her husband, Joe Cole of Ville Platte; two sons, Ricky Cole and wife Janet of Pine Prairie and Mike Cole and wife Denise of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Clyde Johnson of St. Landry and Calvin Johnson of Alexandria; four sisters, Mildred Patin of Pineville, Shelby Maddin of Plano, TX, Lorraine Perrodin of Ville Platte, and Peggy Forman of Bayou Chicot; four grandchildren, Quinten Cole and wife Ashley, Ryan Cole and wife Meggie, Brittany and husband Clay LeBlanc, and Emily Cole and Trey McCants; five great grandchildren, Isabella, Alex, Knox, Lincoln, and Harper.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, James Lee Johnson and Elsie Vera Powell Johnson; one son, Dickie Cole; one brother, James Johnson.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM at First Baptist Church. The church will reopen on at 8:00 AM Saturday for visitation until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Cancer Society.
