Sidney Joseph Babineaux, Jr.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Sidney Joseph Babineaux Jr., who passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on February 7, 1944, in Richard, Louisiana, Sidney was a man who lived his life with a deep passion for his work and love for others.

Sidney was a dedicated welder in the oil industry and took great pride in his craft. In his later years, he transitioned to driving trucks, hauling asphalt and limestone—a job he truly enjoyed. Sidney's spirit shone through his hobbies as well, as he took pleasure in fishing and hunting. His love for the outdoors was only surpassed by his generosity and urge to take care of everyone around him. He was a man who found true joy in service to others.

Sidney was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Shirley LeJeune Babineaux, to whom he was married for 55 beautiful years until she predeceased him in 2021. He is survived by his son, Tracy Babineaux and his daughters, Tammy Johnson and husband Mickey, Katie Savoy and husband Brandon; his ten grandchildren, Lainie Howard (Jason), Lauryn Bolgiano (Blake), Nicole Babineaux Daire, Nicholas Babineaux, Ali Babineaux, Ellie Babineaux, Ryleigh Thibodeaux, Landon Thibodeaux, Sarah Thibodeaux, Sydni Savoy; eight great-grandchildren, Parker Daire, Jaxson Daire, Bennett Daire, Carson Babineaux, Nylah Rose Babineaux, Conrad Howard, Edie Howard, and William Howard; and host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents, Sidney, Sr. and Annie Sonnier Babineaux; one brother, Jeffery Babineaux; and five sisters, Mary Lou Broussard, Ella Mae Hale, Loreta Godeaux, Elda Marie Richard, and Amy Sonnier.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice, on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and on Monday, October 19, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Rosary will be prayed on Monday at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. Deacon Gary will lead the Rosary and officiate the funeral service. Entombment will take place at the St. Paul Mausoleum.
