Shirley (Pecot) Wall, age 89, of Basile, La., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 18, 2008, at her residence. Mrs. Wall was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on September, 20, 1918, and was one of seven children. Mrs Wall was a resident of Basile for the past 70 years, having moved to the area in 1938 after accepting a job as a teacher at Basile High School. She met and married Kenneth O. Wall in 1941 and subsequently raised a family of 5. At the time of her death, Mrs. Wall had 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband. Mrs. Wall was an active member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, having served in the Altar Society. She maintaimed her dedication to fulfilling her chapel hour each week up until she could no longer drive. Her life revolved around her family, her church, and the community of Basile. Mrs. Wall was known for her love of life and in particular her love of travel. She visited many countries and states in her busy life. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Two Daughters, Mary Cross & Jim of New Caney, Texas Nancy Dodson & Michael of Pannama City, Fla.

Three Sons, Tim Wall of Houston, Texas Steve Wall & Peggy of Houston, Texas Michael Wall of Lake Charles, La.

One Brother, Harold Pecot of Montgomery, Ala. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Jacques A. & Mona Gaudin Pecot; sister, Audrey Evans; brothers, John, Warren, Vincent, & Donald Pecot.

Visitation is from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday, July 21, 2008 with a rosary @ 7 PM. Funeral service will be at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2008 by Fr. Brian Taylor.
