Shirley Fruge Read passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at the age of 77.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice at 11 a.m. Fr. Darren Eldridge will officiate. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Mausoleum in Chataignier.

Shirley is survived by one son, Alaric Aucoin of Eunice; one sister, Nela Miller and husband Roland of Chataignier; four nephews, Bryan Miller and wife Rhonda of Chataignier, Lucas Miller and wife Stella of Monroe, Jody Miller and wife Keri of Chataignier, and Jamie Miller and wife Roxanne of Ville Platte; two grandchildren, Joshua and Tyler; and two great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ally Fruge and Evelyn Manuel Fruge; her first husband, Avie Aucoin, Jr.; and her second husband, Robert Read.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. by Deacon Chuck Ortego. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday for visitation until the time of service.
