Shelton Tate, age 85, of Eunice, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, surrounded by family. Born on November 21,1939, Shelton was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alma Deshotel Tate, his two children - Brydie Tate Manuel (Neil) and Michael Tate (Renee) - and five grandchildren - Ellen Manuel Jester (Jacob), Seth Tate, Lauren Manuel, Sarah Tate, and Averie Manuel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Tate and Ellen Soileau Tate Needom. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of the Eunice Manor for their support and compassion throughout his stay. They went above and beyond when caring for him, as well as all of his family members.
