Sheila Herrod DeRouen, of Eunice, LA, died November 2, 2018 after a long illness. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, December 17, 2018, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Eunice, LA. A reception will follow at Cy Read Obituary
I can remember Mrs. Derouen standing in the hall way waiting for her students to come to class , I didn’t have her for a teacher but I always admired her she was so beautiful and always stood tall. My deepest sympathy to the family

I did my “student teaching” under Sheila. She was a sweetheart of a teacher. On our lunch breaks, we went to her house that was being built at the time. I am sending prayers for Karly and Anne. She loved and spoke of you often.
We sure will miss Mrs, Derouen. She was my husband and I accounting teacher at EHS she was truly a gem.

My condolences to Ann, Karlie, & family. Your Mom was a dear friend, and the kindest soul I had the pleasure of having known.
I will always remember the fun times we shared, & especially my spare bedroom at the DeRouen home. THAT'S how often I crashed there!
I remember her strawberry collection on the back screen porch, and the spontaneous Sunday movie outings. The famous "Tour of Homes" was always a classic. Listening to Johnny Mathis albums and Barbra Streisand music in the den, on a lazy Sunday afternoon was another.
I will treasure these memories forever. Rest in peace, "Shirl." Tell Johnny & Karl hello from me!
To the family...ya'll could not have had a BETTER role model as Mother & friend. She is at peace now.
