One of Russell’s greatest joys was dancing with Thelma, his true partner and the love of his life.

Russell Charles LeJeune was born on August 5, 1936 in Iota, La, and passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026 at Eunice Manor. His 90 years were rich with love, laughter, and dedication to family and community.

Russell was the beloved husband of Thelma McCauley LeJeune, with whom he shared a remarkable 69 years of marriage. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. One of Russell’s greatest joys was dancing with Thelma, his true partner and the love of his life. Together they created a home full of warmth and hospitality.

Russell’s legacy continues through his devoted children: his daughters Stephanie Edwards, Tarrel Bollich and her husband David, Lisa Arabie and her husband Darrell, and Pamela Watson and her husband Dennis. He was a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren, Matthew Edwards (Carla), Adam Edwards, Benjamin Bollich, Erin Ficklin (Patrick), Jacob Bollich (Nellie), Jackie Millet (Cade), Jessica Hill (Blake), Catherine Bollich, Joseph Bollich (Lacie), Jeremy Smith (April), Daniel Arabie (Nicole), Thomas Arabie (Isabella), Johnathan Watson (Tricia), and Stephanie Watson; twenty-seven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Each family member will remember Russell not only for his steadfast presence, but also for the stories he shared, the guidance he offered, and the unconditional love he gave so freely.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur LeJeune and Madeline Doucet LeJeune; his brothers Herbert LeJeune, Gaflin LeJeune, Arthur LeJeune, and Durlin LeJeune; his sister, Ethel Frey; his granddaughter Caroline Bollich; and his grandson Christopher Watson.

Russell was known for his outgoing nature—he was a true people person who never met a stranger. His hard-working spirit was matched only by his sense of humor, and he loved to tell jokes, brightening every room he entered. Russell enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: listening to French music and watching western movies, always with a sparkle in his eye.

Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Russell are invited to gather for visitation on Monday, August 17, 2026, beginning at 8:00 AM until 11:15 AM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on the same day, Monday, at 11:30 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father John Dugas officiating.
