I want to thank my sister, Connie, for telling me of MawMaw Rose's passing. It breaks my heart not to be there, but I cant get away from my duties at school here in the New Orleans area with the short notice and distance involved. I have not seen Mawmaw Rose in many years, but my memories of her and PawPaw Atney are filled with joy and happiness. I remember as a child, reading from her fairy tale books in the den, throwing pinecones on the fire, playing with the lincoln logs she kept for me and having tea with cinnamon sticks in the kitchen. Rose was a blessing in my life and I know there is a special place in heaven for such a beautiful, kind and loving soul. I love you MawMaw Rose.

I will live an miss u dearly Momo Rose, I have so many memories of playing Crochet in the backyard, bbbqs, an trips to Lake Ouachito an Hot Springs.... I know the Angels welcomed u with song. Lo e u so much Momo.

I remember all the fun we had when our family visited our Louisiana relatives. I would always get to spend the entire vacation at Aunt Rose and Uncle Atney's home so I could play with my cousins Janet and Sandra! When they visited Mom in Minnesota, there was always lots of laughter. After meals, Aunt Rose would tell me to 'come see' and we'd sneak out of the house and go bicycle riding until the dishes were washed!
In December 1985, Aunt Rose made a 'surprise visit' to see Mom. We went on a sleigh ride in the snow and she spent Christmas with us. She really enjoyed her White Christmas! When we were in Hawaii with Joan and Janet's family and friends, Aunt Rose wanted to do the hula, and so we all wore leis and grass skirts! My daughter Emily still laughs when we remember our trip together. I'll always remember Aunt Rose for her laughter and the way she celebrated life! Hugs and prayers to all of you.
