Rogers Joseph "Paw Paw Monkey" Benoit, age 65, of Eunice, La., died Monday, July 27, 2009, at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice, La. A native of Eunice and a Vietnam Veteran. He served his country from 1968 to 1969. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Gail (Miller) Benoit of Eunice, La.

One Daughter, Gernice Celest Clay & Louis of Eunice, La.

One Son, Sgt. John David Benoit & Jessica of Eunice, La.

Five Sisters, Gloria Mosbroker & Norvil, Sr. Merlina "Lena" Young Mona Johnson all of Basile, La. Donna Rabalais & Keith of Crowley, La. Rosetta Badaczewski & Steve of Arkansas

Four grandchildren, Jordan Michael Pfturchellar, Jocelyn Raven Benoit, Jessamine Celest Benoit, & Zeke Allen Clay. Rogers will be sadlly missed by a host of neices and nephews. Preceded in death by: Parents, Alex Benoit & Mary Lou Courville Fruge; Son, Raven Paul Benoit; Grandson, Raven Paul David Melancon; Brother, Harry Paul Benoit, Sr.

Visitation is from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM (midnight) Friday, July 31, 2009 with a rosary @ 7:00 PM. Reopen at 8:00 AM Sat. Funeral service will be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 1, 2009. Burial to follow in Mt.
