Rodney Joseph Sittig, Sr. passed away on Sunday January 12, 2014 at the age of 73. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday January 15, 2014. Father Clinton Sensat will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Thomas More Cemetery. Rodney is survived by his wife, Charlene G. Sittig of Eunice; one son, Rodney Sittig, Jr. of Lafayette; one step son, Joey Dies of Eunice; one sister, Darlene Dean of GA; four brothers, Lammy Sittig, George Sittig, both of Chester, TX, Wayne Sittig of MA, and Dolan Sittig of Las Vegas, NV; one grandchild, Hannah Dies; and two great grandchildren, Chance and Brooklyn Ortego. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ubel CJ Sittig and Rose Fontenot Barnes; and one sister, Kathleen Sittig. At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday January 14, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon David Guillory at 7:00 p.m. that evening. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
