Ten or so years ago I locked my keys in my truck at Wal-Mart .. Called the police station and they told me they no longer unlocked vehicles .. Gave me the number to Robbie.. He answered the phone and responded right away.. He recognized me (from my Dad) and we had a nice visit.. I pulled my wallet out but he absolutely refused to take a penny from me.. The following week , believe it or not, it happened again , and in the Wal-Mart parking lot.. I was so embarrassed to call him but no way was I calling anyone else.. He asked me on the phone where I was located in the parking lot and if it was near the same location as the week before.. He actually remembered me and my location.. He laughed and we visited again.. I got my wallet and insisted he get paid for his service.. He refused again.. But I made him agree if I did this again he would charge me... I am the one that made him agree.. What a wonderful man and human being !!

Please pray for strength for our family. I lost a part of my world when I lost my dad & the struggle is far greater than I would have ever imagined. My dad, best friend, protector, and first man Inever loved could never be replaced by anyone. He taught me about giving instead of taking, helping instead of judging, and helping even if I only had a dollar in my pocket. He taught me to feed the homeless, he taught me to forgive fully, and he taught me that if I wanted something bad enough, hard work will get me there - all these things are so true! These morals and values are only a few of the main things he taught me that stands out and needs to be spoken about. This is just one of the times Robbie came to my rescue. I'm finishing up a long weekend of work. Time to go home. It's 6pm on a Sunday night and I get into my car and it would not start. Ruled out the regular stuff. Still would not start. Here's the kicker-I'm in Mermentau. Knowing my family didn't have the equipment to pull my car home my next call was to my friend Robbie. Without hesitation he says I'm coming. He came on a Sunday night loaded up my car and took me home. This is just one of the times. Robbie was a good man through and through and I was lucky to call him my friend. Rest easy Robbie. Susan, you and you family are in my prayers. Denise Nelson

I’ve known Robbie since he had the speed shop on Laurel Avenue. I, being a young hot fodder would but everything I could to make my first car as quick as I could from his speed shop based on his recommendations and suggestions. Sometimes I would go there just to hang out and visit and talk about cars. When he closed the speed shop here was my goto for all wrecker needs also. I wouldn’t see him as often as I used to but he always remembered me and we talked like we hadn’t missed a day. He was a great guy and so cool to hang out with and talk to. Robbie, you are and will be missed. RIP old friend. Prayers to Mrs Susan and all the family.
