Eunice

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rebecca "Becky" Faye Forbes Pucheu, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, announces her passing peacefully on June 11, 2026. Born on March 24, 1949 in Laurel, Mississippi, Becky leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Becky dedicated her life to her family, nurturing and supporting them through every season. She had a zest for life and a love for the arts, including dance and theatre in her early years and painting later in life. Becky was a consummate people-person and educator and deeply involved in her faith community. Joining the Catholic church in her 30’s, this became the foundation for so much of her life. As a language enthusiast, she also taught French and Spanish at St. Edmund High School for 10 years. She was also one of the founders of the Eunice Junior Auxiliary.

She is deeply missed by her devoted husband, Jacque Pucheu, Jr., who stood by her side with unwavering love. Her children were the joy of her life: her two sons, Alex Pucheu and his wife Tiffany, and Philippe Pucheu and his wife Jamie; and her beloved daughter, Katherine Theall and her husband Torrey. Becky's nurturing spirit extended beyond her children to her eight treasured grandchildren, Peyton Tillman (Billy), Blythe Theall, Gretchen Theall, Ronan Theall, Berklee Pucheu, Emile Pucheu, Aubrey Pucheu and Jules Pucheu; two great-grandchildren, Eloise Tillman and William Tillman. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, John Pucheu and wife Rhonda; her sister-in-law, Annette Pucheu Lynch; and her niece, Lauren Gipson.

Preceding Becky in passing were her loving parents, Neil Morton Forbes, Jr. and Pauline Anderson Forbes, whose values and love helped shape the extraordinary woman Becky grew to be. She was also reunited with her dear siblings, brother John C. Forbes and sister Lorraine Gipson, whose memories she cherished deeply. Also preceding her in death were her grandparents, Neil Morton Forbes, Sr. “Pop” and Dove Kilgore Forbes "Granny", and Wyatt and Elizabeth Fear Anderson; her beloved nephew, Neil Gipson; and her mother and father-in-law, Jack and Jean Pucheu.

The family invites all who knew and loved Becky to join them in celebrating and honoring her remarkable life. Visitation will be held at Quirk & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a Rosary prayed at 6:00 PM by Father Blaine Clement.

Visitation will resume on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with Father Hampton Davis serving as Celebrant and Father Blaine Clement as Co-Celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Mausoleum in Eunice.
