Ray C. Ortego passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the age of 88. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. Deacon David Guillory will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Eunice. Ray is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Harrell and husband Danny of Lafayette; two sons, Steven Ortego of Lafayette and Mitchel Ortego from Austin, Texas, two stepsons, Steven Ortego of Eunice and Joel Ortego of Eunice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Folton and Annette Ducote Ortego and his wife, Helena Ortego. Ray was retired from the U. S. Navy. He served as a corpsman in both WWII and Vietnam wars. At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the time of service. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
