Dr. Randall "Randy" A. Bergeron's Obituary
Dr. Randall “Randy” A. Bergeron, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the age of 70, after fighting a long, hard battle with cancer.
He was a native of Mowata, Louisiana, and current resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Randy was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and continued his education at LSU for undergrad. He then went to LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, completed his residency in Charleston, South Carolina, and ended up back in Baton Rouge to begin his career as a Pediatric Dentist and Orthodontist. He continued to practice up until the end of his life. He loved caring for his patients and truly enjoyed and was passionate about his career.
In Randy’s free time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, and socializing with all of his family and friends. Randy was a proud member of Baton Rouge Ancient Athlete Society, where he met so many lifelong friends and even served as a past president. One of his most favorite times was hosting crawfish boils in Mowata and Baton Rouge. He also loved to be at the beach.
Randy is survived by his two daughters, Trista Bergeron Messerli and Laiken Bergeron; son-in-law Alex Messerli; grandchildren Isabella Grace Messerli and Alexander August Messerli; brothers Kenneth Bergeron, Glenn “Spook” Bergeron; sister Dianna “Lou” Bergeron; sisters-in-law Mary Ann (Burke) Bergeron and Jan (Baker) Bergeron, and several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmen and Alberta Leonards Bergeron; brother, Jimmy Bergeron and sister- in-law, Kim (Burnett) Bergeron.
Not only is Randy loved by so many, but he also loved so many! He had the biggest heart and he will be dearly missed.
At the request of family, visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Quirk & Son, with a Rosary by Randy’s brother, Glenn, at 6:00 PM. A sharing of memories will follow the Rosary. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Saturday until 10:25 AM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father Mike Sucharski Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
A celebration of life will take place next door to St. Lawrence Church at Mo’ Crawfish directly after the burial.
Pallbearers will be Alexandre Messerli, Jacob Bergeron, Kenny Bergeron, Jr., Bradley Bergeron, Brett Bergeron and Will Harris.
