Pierre Joseph Martel was called to his eternal home on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the age of 52. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Eunice with Pastor Tim Moffett officiating and music by David Harper. At the request of family, visitation will be held the same day at the church from 2:00 PM until time of Services. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, Pierre moved to Louisiana in 1996, at first to just travel and see the world, but eventually realized that God had brought him here for way more than just tourism. Pierre had the pleasure and responsibility to teach hundreds of students over his 25 year career as a public school educator. It was a responsibility he relished and took very seriously. Pierre will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his companion, Karen Hudson; his son and best friend, Brandon Martel; his sister, Kim Martel and his step-daughter, Meghan Toups. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosaire (Marty) and Leoma Robicheaud Martel. Pierre's request was that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to either the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society
