Phyllis "Lynne" Chatagnier Brown

Jun 21, 1939 — Sep 17, 2026

Eunice, La

Phyllis "Lynne" Chatagnier Brown passed away on  Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on June 21, 1939, she lived a long life centered on devotion to her family, whose love remained the measure of her days and the great blessing of her years.

In her younger years, "Lynne" enjoyed playing tennis with her friends, a pleasure that reflected both her spirited nature and her enjoyment of companionship. Above all else, she was a woman whose heart belonged to her family. A warrior, she bravely fought her battle with cancer in order to spend as much time as possible with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, and the love she gave them will remain one of her most enduring gifts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Joseph Brown, Jr.; her father, Louis G. Chatagnier; her mother, Thelma Taylor Chatagnier; her brothers, Louis “Buddy” Chatagnier and Gregory Chatagnier; and her daughter-in-law, Juana Brown.

She leaves behind a family who will lovingly cherish her memory. Her children include her three sons, Eddie J. Brown III, Blake Louis Brown and his wife Debbie, and Stephen Lynn Brown (partner Kim); and her two daughters, Jennifer Brown Martin and Donna Brown Filo and her husband Frank. She is also survived by her brothers, Kenneth Chatagnier and his wife Angie, and Keith Chataignier and his wife Janet; her sisters, Jana Chataignier (partner Tristian), and Dana Altizan and her husband Keith; and by her sister-in-law, Gloria Chatagnier.

Her legacy continues in the lives of her fifteen grandchildren: Jana Veillon (the late Blake), Eddie "EJ" Joseph Brown (Shaley), Kelly Franzman, Conner Martin, Taylor Martin, Amily Arnaud (Dustin), Matthew Blake Brown (Shelly), Sarah Fontenot (Joe), Lauren Fontenot (Lindsey), Adam Like Brown, Jake Benjamin Brown (Kristin), Skotti Sneed and (Jacob), Rebekah Lyn Brown (Jaxon), Noah Blake Filo and Ethan Luke Filo; her twenty-two great-grandchildren and her two great-great-grandchildren, carried a special place in her heart, and her love for them was steadfast and abundant.

Family and friends are invited to honor her life at Quirk & Son Funeral Home on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a  rosary prayed by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2026 until 12:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on September 19, 2026, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father John Brown Celebrant assisted by Deacon Gary Gaudin. Entombment will follow at St. Paul Mausoleum in Eunice.

"Lynne" will be remembered for her strength, her perseverance, and the deep love she poured into her family. Her life was a testament to endurance and devotion, and her memory will remain a treasured presence in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
