Pearl Mae Prather Young passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017, at the age of 87.

Pearl is survived by one son; James M. Young, Jr. and wife Debbie of Eunice, one daughter; Peggy Y. Adams and husband Jack of Thibodeaux, three brothers; Shelby Prather of Eunice, Floyd Prather of Eunice and Willis Prather of Colfax, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; Arthur Prather and Ola Mae Wittington and her husband, James Monroe Young Sr., three sisters; Ruby Book, Isabelle Friend, Edna LeBouef, six brothers; Melvin Prather, Napoleon Prather, Clyde Prather, Clarence Prather, Vernon Prather and George Prather. The family would like to thank Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care and Grace Home health. Also, they would like to thank all of her family and friends for their prayers and concern. A family memorial will be planned at a later date. Donations may be made in her honor to University Baptist Church in Eunice. Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of the arrangements.
