Paul Marshall Fontenot, a beloved father and cherished friend, departed this life on March 10, 2026, at Opelousas General Hospital. Born on May 21, 1973, Paul filled his years with love, laughter, and meaningful moments that will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew him.

Paul was a wonderful father, devoting himself wholeheartedly to his four sons: Joshua Fontenot (Morgan), Tylor Fontenot (Shay), Hunter Fontenot (Kenzie), and Marshall Fontenot. He also embraced the joys and challenges of raising three daughters who brought him immeasurable pride and joy: Taylor Fontenot (Demetrius), Tara Fontenot, and Mikah Fontenot. Paul's legacy extends to his fifteen adoring grandchildren, all of whom were touched by his generous heart and spirited nature.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Linda Saucier Fontenot, who always held him close in her heart. Paul also leaves behind two sisters, Tina Willis, who is married to Chad, and Kacey Veillon, married to Jeramie, both of whom shared laughter and companionship with him throughout his life. Paul’s warmth was further complemented by the loyal support of his uncle, Vernon Boenig, who was always there, getting him out of trouble, providing a guiding hand when it was needed most.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lionel Joseph Fontenot and his beloved Godmother, Barbara Boenig.

Paul had a deep passion for the great outdoors, often sharing lively stories about his adventures in hunting and fishing. These pursuits were not just hobbies for him; they were an integral part of who he was, and he loved talking about them with anyone who would listen.

Even as he navigated life's ups and downs, Paul embodied kindness and generosity. His spirit shone brightly and he had a remarkable ability to connect with those around him. He treasured his family and friends deeply and expressed love in countless ways, leaving a remarkable impact that will be felt for generations to come.

A visitation in his honor will be held on March 12, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 PM, both taking place at Quirk & Son Funeral Home located at 121 S 6th St, Eunice, LA 70535. Deacon Gary Gaudin will officiate Services. Cremation will follow.

Paul's memory will live on through the stories shared by his family and friends, reminding us all of a life filled with love, adventure, and the warmth of a generous heart. We celebrate you, Paul, and will carry your spirit within us always.
