Patsy Ruth Gil Fontenot passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at the age of 83. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father Hampton Davis celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Mausoleum. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice. A vigil will begin at 6:00 PM officiated by her son, Deacon Keith Fontenot, followed by the rosary led by her daughter, Pennie Walden. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Wednesday until time of Services. Patsy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her life was devoted to her relationships with God and her family. She loved cooking for her family and showering them with love and attention. Whether related to school, sports, dance or family events, she never missed the opportunity to attend. Her children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren could always count on her being there. Together with her husband, Allie, she enjoyed time spent with their family. She will be sorely missed. "Pat" is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Allie Fontenot, Jr.; two sons, Keith Fontenot and wife Madge, Mitchell Fontenot and wife Julie; three daughters, Sandy Leon and husband Richard, Pennie Walden and husband Doug, Monica Sanders and husband Luke; two brothers, George Gil, Bobby Gil; twenty grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Ann Fontenot; her parents, Willie and Mary Lou Green Gil; her sister, Geraldine Lemoine, two brothers, Dickie Gil and Eddie Gil.
