Brother Orville Kenneth Rogers passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the age of 82. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with Reverend Josh Johnson officiating and Reverend Josh Spinks assisting. Burial will precede the Service at 11:00 AM at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until burial at 11:00 AM at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Non-judgmental, kind, caring, a leader, and humorous are a few of the words that Reverend Orville Rogers' family, friends, and church families would use to describe him. Never one to back down from a challenge, he fought for his life to the end and left this Earth surrounded by loved ones, leaving behind quite a legacy of his work for Christ. He would want those left behind to rejoice in his passing and remember Phillippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me." Orville is survived by his wife, Mary Reeves Rogers; one son, Cory Rogers and wife Kim; one daughter, Terri Sloan; two sisters, Debbie Rogers, Beverly Hobbs; five grandchildren, Jami Rogers, Summer Rogers, Hannah Wallace, Holly Wallace, Preston Wallace; four great-grandchildren, Auddi, Abigail, Charlie and Josie. Pall bearers will be C.J. Tremont, Preston Wallace, Ben Davis, Zack Harris, Gordon Middlebrooks and Kentry Prather.
