Olia Fontenot Sonnier passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the age of 83. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile with Father Keenan Brown celebrant. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 8:00 AM until time of Services at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile. Olia is survived by four daughters, Lieche Derousselle, Geraldine Mouton, Tracy Richardson, Catherine Sonnier; one sister, Mildred Deculus; twenty-two grandchildren and forty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Sonnier; her parents, Duffy and Pearl Pappion Fontenot; two sons, Melvin Sonnier. Mervin Sonnier; one daughter,Florence Guillory; one sister, Gertrude Adams; one grandson, Melvin "Pokey" Sonnier, Jr.; one great grand-daughter, Jaidynn Edwards. Pall bearers will be Marvin Sonnier, James Edwards, Johathan Sonnier, Lawrence LeMelle, Jeremy Derousselle, Justin Sonnier, Nicholas Richardson, Shane LeMelle, Christopher Guillory, Jarrad Richardson
