November 10, 1940 – September 21, 2018
Norma Lavergne Smith passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home with her daughter by her side on Friday, September 21, 2018, at the age of 77, A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Msgr. Robert Romero will officiate. At the request of the family visitation will begin on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice and will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed on Monday, at 6:00 PM. Deacon Gary Gaudin will officiate. Norma is survived by her daughter; Susan Stewart Longshore, one brother, Ivan Lavergne, one sister, Barbara Ryder, four grandchildren; Stephanie Kehr, William Stewart, Joshua Longshore, Matthew Smith, five great grandchildren. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Issac Lavergne and Beulah Boyzone Lavergne, her husband, Joseph D. Smith Jr., two sons; William Stewart Jr. and Joseph D. "Joey" Smith III, her son in law, John R. Longshore. Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of the arrangements. A special Thank You to the staff of Hope Hospice, Dr. Bryan Heinen and to all our friends and family that called, came, prayed and visited during our journey.
